Highlights in dark brown hair?

My hair is dark dark brown, nearly black; I was wondering if highlights would look bad in my hair? I bought a frosting kit a few days ago and have yet to use it, afraid of it turning out bad. It's for medium brown hair to darkest brown hair, and the highlights are a dark blondish color. Would this look bad on my hair? Here are some pictures of my hair: http://s180.photobucket.com/albums/x23/S...

I think some really light brown highlights would look awesome in your hair.

If you're Asian/Indian/not white, it'll look a bit odd.

But you can pull it off.

My aunt used to have blonde highlights.

But that was after she got her hair a bit redder and browner so it wasn't black.

But it should work on you, since your hair won't look unnatural with blonde highlights.

if i were you i wouldnt do it. most of the time highlights in dark hair done from a kit will turn orange or just look bad. there do not look natural. if you decide to do it, make sure you do it a caramel color, this will look better than blonde frosty highlights. also make sure you do thin highlights, chunky ones are scary and ugly. just try to make it look as natural as possible for the best affect.

It would be best if you get a rinse instead of highlights , it would look better in your hair!!!!!

It can look fantastic if you get it done by a GOOD salon... I would spend some money on it if you plan on getting it done. Highlights in dark hair needs to be done well or else it can look trashy and/or bad. I'd stick to more subtle tones of brown and some dark blonde... maybe even a little reddish. You can do "multi-colored" highlights to give your hair some dimension!

I found some pics in yahoo images that look pretty good!

You could always try the chunky, light highlights, but it usually goes best with short "punky" hair:

I have really dark hair like you and have had hi-lites before. The best it ever looked I had it done professionally and just did a few sections around my face. She left the bleach in for a very short time and checked the color every few minutes. People asked me all the time if it was natural. I think you should try it. Just be careful and do a strand test before you start. If it looks awful, you can dye it back to your natural color using a semi-permanent dye like ColorSpa by Loreal.

Have fun and good luck!!
