Hair Highlight for Guys - pics corrected?

i have never highlighted my hair or anything before and i kinda want to just to do something different. I want to get some blonde highlights, but not too much. Here is a picture of my hair, it a little brushed to the side in this pic:

I want to highlight it something like this, maybe a little darker/dirtier blonde though:

Do any of you think this could work or have any suggestions?

Also, do you guys think highlights can work on guys or that they are kinda gay?

I know alot of guys that have highlights. Just go to a really good salon with a picture and show them what you want. They'll know what to do. If you don't like you can always shave your head.

well you should get a new cut thats for sure. get something like this:

if you get that hairstyle, the highlights will look really good! don't get highlights if your keeping your hair the same style. but i strongly suggest you get a new style and get highlights cuzz it will look awesome.

the first pic is cute! but if you want highlights let your hair grow out more so when u get it highlighted it gets cut and styled the way you want it to! good luck
