I went in with gorgeous hair and took a picture of a style I wanted....not that much different than what I had and I came out with hair a quarter of an inch long in the back and top. How would you handle this without doing something ilegal like shaving her head?????

the same thing happened to me, i cried for 4 hours, and then I went to another lady and just had to get a cute really really short hair cut. I'm just lucky that I actually had the face to pull it off. my hair had finally just grew back to where is almost as long as it was before i cut it. I never went back to that lady again and I was faithful to her

Well, for starters, you need to be mature and up front with your stylist. You shouldn't have walked out with it looking the way it did. She needs to know up front if you are pleased or not. If after voicing your thoughts you are getting no where, then you need to find another stylist. However, most stylists are very good and try not to take these things personally as it does happen. Go back and tell her that you aren't happy and see if she can help you come up with some ideas to make it better.

Sorry about your hair!Talk to her and let her know how disappointed you were with the results. Most reputable stylists won't charge you for the visit. If she isn't willing to work with you then I would just tell her word of mouth can be the best/worst to someone in her business and leave it at that. She will get the picture.

Don't shave your head. I would wait a couple of months for it to grow and I would be a bit angry but I never do my hair at the salon but at home. Just buy the best products in store and do it yourself at home. It's easy and the result is much more beautiful. You can also get a wig to hide it for a while or hair extinctions. Good luck. first of all, I would refuse to pay for it if you got something completely different than what you asked for. I would never go there again and I would tell everyone you know not to go there either. I would also speak to the salon owner/manager and make sure they know just how upset you are.

how much of your hair did she actually cut off? if it was inches, then i would look into suing her. did she know you were dissatisfied? did she request payment for her services? i would see if i had a chance to sue for mental pain and suffering. other than that you really can't do anything, except bad mouth the hairdresser. i can tell you a satisfied customer may bring 2 people there, and dissatisfied customer will keep 7 away.

(well mine was a couple inches long or something, but my wanted hairstyle was nape fo the neck length..) wouldn't it be ironic if it was the same lady? i had pictures from all around this girl's hairstyle that i wanted! i looked like a little boy!

you can not change the fact that your hair is not what you want. you can not glue back on right? so complain to the manager maybe they will give you free stuff and get them to fix your hair. if after complaining they do nothing never go back and tell all your friends so htey will not go there. word of mouth could damage the income of that salon.

That happens to me too. and I hate it when that happens, especially when your going someplace special. What I would do:
A. Go back in and complain %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; I wouldn't recommend this one
B. Go to another hair stylist, different than the other one

Take lots of photos of the new hideous hairstyle, find a recent photo of how you had your hair before, sue her and use all the photos as evidence, including the photo of what you wanted your hair to look like...Wear a hat or a wig or put up your hair for the next few months until it grows out again.

I had this problem but it was the colour that was done wrong on me. I went to trading standards and they said to go to a few other salons and ask what they would have done, if I'd have gone to them in the first place, and if I can get at least 2 to say that the one I went to had done it wrong then I could go back and get them to do it again or demand a refund. They also said that if you have a valid reason for saying that they did it wrong then they have to give you a refund or if you want they have to re-do your hair.
However, if they were an untrained stylist posing as a trained one then you can file legal procedings, but you'll be hard pushed to find a lawyer who will take such a small case. All you can hope to get from it is some compensation money that probably won't cover the legal fees. I'd just threaten a law suit and they'll settle out of court. If this isn't an option for you then you can always spread the word to friends and family that the salon is rubbish. Word of mouth is very powerful.
