How can i get my hair flat and smooth like in the picture?

ok so ive been growing my hair out hoping for it to look like the link below only a bit longer

but it doesnt,,, i have straight hair but it always seems to be like sorta poofy

its hard to explain but i can tell it like doesnt lay flat

every product i use doesnt work

even if you have straight hair, u should straighten it coz it will become more flat and smoother,as well as poker straight, it that doest work use tigi dead flat
